new London2012 logo

Official figures being swished around the media, budgets the cost of the 2008 Beijing Olympics at around the USD 40 Billion mark ...... was it worth it? ..... certainly Zhang Yimou et al, made sure we got a good show out of it .....

Apparently, on seeing what a wonderful Olympiad the Chinese have made of the Beijing 2008 version, the UK IOC has now boosted its original fund for London 2012 of USD 3 Billion to 9.7 Billion before the Beijing games started ..... to now the latest figure this week of USD 12 Billion .... it's lotta lotta money for a country with a population of just 60M  ....... so, let's all wait and see how the Brits do in four years time ....

Personally, i 'm so happy that they have madeover the yucky purple original version of the logo with the a revised Union Jack version they unveiled in Beijing ..... the shapes are still a bit odd, but at least the color scheme now makes some logical sense!

Here's a clip of the intro handover video that London 2012 showed at closing ceremony in last week ..... http://www.london2012.com/blog/2008/08/25/handover-ceremony-opening-clip.php

uk may have a smaller population, but they have a higher income rate... and keep in mind that olympics don't /have/ to cost 40 billion, i think Athens cost less than like 10...
