i had the most amazing day. a perfect sunday.
beautiful. hot. sunny.
good friend. good food. good ness.
i love waking up and feeling new. it seems to happen more and more. i feel new, but yet i’m returning to the old. i guess it’s not so much an old and new thing, but more a return to the genuine. to what’s real. it’s a mind blowing thing to realize the degree to which one can mask his or her true self.
it’s mind blowing in another realm entirely when you realize you’re coming back. i appreciate everything so much more.
i want to kiss the shit out of something.
baxter is so gonna get it
ok. so my photo for today. i don’t feel like posting a picture of myself. meh.
BUT…
on the same appreciating life bend, i want to give a shout out to my sister Ingrid Chen. Chen. Yu. Yeah, we’re not blood sisters. But we’re the next closest thing. Anyway, this was not just any sunday, it was also Ingrid’s birthday so i’m posting a photo i took of her from the other night at Osteria Mozza, where I made love to some burricotta so hard i got a kink in my neck. I love this photo…
She was just in LA visiting from Portland so right now I am freshly missing her company. Ingrid is the author of The Hungry Cupboard, where she shares her ever expanding journey into the food world and I think ya’ll should have a look see.
Happy Birthday Ing!
