Snake Is Back.
One of the coolest heroes ever, a hero that inspired even more famous heroes, as an example Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid was inspired by this exact hero: Snake Plissken , and today I won't be talking about "Escape from N.Y." but about
Escape From L.A. (1996) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116225/maindetails
The year is 2013 and Snake Plissken is back but this time it's L.A., which through the agency of earthquakes has become an island of the damned. But something has gone wrong in this new moral order, because the President's daughter has absconded to L.A. with a detonation device, and Snake is commandeered to retrieve it. But just below the surface there is a coiled Snake ready to strike. Fun Facts:- At the beginning of the film, Kurt Russell wears his costume from the original film, which still fits after 15 years.
When Snake is done playing basketball and tries to escape through the gate, the bald, black guard wearing sunglasses holding a gun is actually Isaac Hayes (uncredited cameo), who played the Duke of New York in Escape from New York.
The orphan in the cap that Snake Plissken makes eye contact with while being escorted down the hallway was played by Kurt Russell’s son Wyatt Russell.
During the climactic battle scene, when Steve Buscemi's character is hanging off the helicopter, several stores are visible in the matte shot behind him. One of the prominent buildings is clearly marked "Miniatures", a reference to the filmmaking technique.
And I'm not putting one scene, but TWO!!!!!
The ending scene first and then the "mexican standoff scene" that was copyied 1001 times!
