[A double wedding with Arche Kao, Karin Anna Cheung, Wilson Cruz & Rane Jameson]
I've been MIA as I just finished shooting my fourth feature The People I've Slept With. It was an intense 18-day / 3-week shoot but we've done it and gotten everything in the can. I am grateful to have a wonderful crew who worked really hard for very little... and the executive producers and financiers who believed in the project and us. It was a privilege to work with such a terrific cast that included Karin Anna Cheung, Wilson Cruz, Archie Kao, Lynn Chen, Randall Park and the iconic James Shigeta.
Yes, it was very very hot on the set, both literally and figuratively speaking. We built Angela's apartment in a warehouse with no air conditioning in the beginning of a Southern California summer. We spent a week on that set with all the HMIs and equipment... it was an oven to work in.
But the hottest day was the day we shot the double wedding where we had to be out in the sun all day. The PAs had to constantly put up umbrellas to shield the actors and extras from extended sun exposure.
I'll have more updates but I need to sleep more first...
