Rogaine for Clowns

I've been feeling real funny lately...

Not funny HA HA

More like funny BlEEAHAH BARFFF PATOOIE....

Being sick sucks.

There's absolutely nothing funny about that.

Well, actually there is. I have some great footage of my ex partner throwing up in Afghanistan and running into the showers across the hall from our hotel room with her head in a bag and a sheet covering her almost naked body.

All this to the horrified looks of conservative Afghani men staying in the same hotel.

Comedy Gold.

At least one thing positive came out of being locked up at home.

I took the opportunity to design my set and build some new props for my upcoming tour in South Korea.

One of my little DIY projects was building a new wig for THE OLD GUY.

Now in the past, I had the luxury of having new materials and yak hair to work with.

For those that aren't in the know, yak hair is the hair of choice for top shelf clown/ performing wigs.

I don't know why but it's great to work with AND it's closer to natural human hair

I'm so pretty. oh so pretty.

So this time around, I went through my old costumes and supplies to see what I can salvage to build a new piece.

First up, I took an old wig I've had for years that had a bit of ratty yak hair left on it.

Unfortunately it was painted green for the Wall Street Fighter video we shot awhile back.

So I took out my handy dandy sewing kit and proceeded to pull out the yak. (insert dirty comment here)

After a hardcore scrub with some Goof Off and Woolite I was left with a clean flesh tone skull cap to work with.

Since I didn't have any yak hair left, I did the next best thing. An old Santa beard I hacked up a few years back.

AFTER a bit of shaping, modeling and sewing, this is what I came up with. It's a bit more crazier than my previous balding wig.

I built in three strands of hair for a nice comb over. I think I'll blend in a little black for some texture. Not sure if I want to flesh out the skull cap with a different makeup blend to match my skin tone.

Here's the original wig I built for THE OLD GUY.

There you have it.

Losing your hair?

Build a wig.

Just that simple.

Okay, next up. Set building.
