1 girl, 2 hours, 3 choices.-A client of mine flew in from New York for the Ballet Ball early this morning. With two full racks of clothes, we narrowed it down to three choices. A Lanvin tulle dress in black. A Marchesa bustier dress in dusty pink. An amazingly-constructed Roland Moret shift.
Being refreshingly young, and an international fashion icon to boot, I wanted her to stand out in something different and age-appropriate. Which means no long floaty gowns - which would no doubt be the choice of every other person in attendance. In the end, I decided on a deliciously tight, knee-length dress in plum - matching it with the most stunning Louboutins sprinkled with glitter (much like a cupcake!). To set off the ice from Van Cleef and Arpels (who are generously underwriting the ball), nude lips prevailed over crimson with flat-ironed hair parted to the side.
Du Juan should be sipping champagne as I am typing this post and trying to get an early night (LA beckons!). The rush I get out of zipping up people in something fun and unexpected is always priceless.
Hope you are having a good weekend. xoxo
