Alive in Class

Andrew, Terence and Conroy were kind enough to come to my Understanding Movies class yesterday and do a Q&A with my students.

I want to say THANK YOU to them for being so generous with their time and for allowing me to have a rare class where I felt like I gave my students a chance to reallysee into a film.

The students all told me afterward that they really enjoyed The Heavenly Kings (which I screened before the Q&A) and being able to listen to Andrew, Terence and Conroy. I asked them why they didn't ask many questions, but I think they were just shy. Their grades will reflect the loss of face they cost me...

So thank you Terence, Andrew and Conroy for knocking down the 'fourth wall' and talking with my students.

They just got here, but Conroy edges towards the door...

"If one more of these kids asks where Daniel is, I'll snap..."

Andrew has had it up tohere...

"I need a cigarette..."

Andrew's un-ladylike posture draws Conroy's attention.

"You lookin' at me???"

Terence speaks.

Andrew pensively listens.

This particular anecdote always brings a tear to Andrew's eyes.

Conroy speaks, and we all listen. Look at that tattoo...

"No, I didn't like that Native American outfit and if you ask me again I'll smack you!"

Conroy emphasizes; Andrew keeps a careful eye on him.

"I don't know what Andrew's doing, but it's nothing to do with me!"

"Thank god the professor finally got someone worth listening to in class and shut the hell up!"
