I thought you might like my latest woodworking venture (you could call it art, I suppose).
*I always keep leftover wood pieces, and occasionally get inspired to do something with them.*
I printed out the above image, glued it to a piece of flame maple and cut out the outline.
I glued a copy of just the eye and nose portion to some thin ebony scraps.
Having inlaid these, I used a file to generate maple dust which was used, with super glue, to fill in around them.
The teeth were done sort of the opposite; I used small chisels to open the lines in the maple, then used ebony dust to fill them.
The hard part for me was blending the contours of the edges.
But I guess it worked out.
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
