That's not a euphemism, it's the name of a Ronnie Wood solo record.I finally decided to go ahead and attach the neck to the body of the Less Paul. There was no longer any reason notto do it, so I decided to delay no more.So out comes the wood glue:I put glue in the neck pocket, some on the neck, and put the two pieces together. I must be getting better at this woodworking stuff, because this neck joint was very snug, and there are no gaps in the joint, even without the glue.Still, I used clamps, just to make sure: I sanded the joint while it was still wet so that any glue line would get sawdust in it, helping to minimize its visibility. After a few hours, I took the clamps off, sanded the joint well and sprayed some lacquer on it. It still needs a lot of coats, but so far so good, I'd say:
So for the first time, it's a complete guitar, at least wood-wise: This gives you an idea of the scale of the guitar. It's next to a full-size Les Paul that I bought in Tokyo: "Are you my Mommy?"
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's been watching and reading. I've made a real effort to document the process, and I've enjoyed sharing it with you. It will be a while until I get it finished because I still need to put a lot of lacquer on it, but it's fun on days like today to see a major step forward.
