Good, if disturbing read for at least two reasons:
The leader of Beijing's top think-tank on Hong Kong has warned that the central government may decide to scrap the "one country, two systems" policy if anti- mainland sentiment continues to rise.
On the barring of Hong Kong Indigenous' Edward Leung Tin-kei from running in the Legislative Council election, Lau said the central government has to tackle the independence movement as it does with Taiwan, Tibet and Xinjiang. He said the returning officers would not have disqualified the candidates without the support of Beijing and the SAR government. "Frankly speaking how many Hongkongers would believe that it was purely the returning officers' decisions?" he said. "Certainly they are backed by the central government and the SAR government."
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
