My next door neighbor is currently on the phone.
But she's sitting next to the window.
The window is open.
She's not speaking quietly.
Another woman somewhere nearby has shouted "SHUT UP, B*TCH!"
People have been knocking on her door, and saying they live here too, and please speak more quietly. Knocking loudly. She hasn't answered.
She's been on the phone the whole time.
I can't understand much, but I've heard gweilo, and b*tch, the second more than a few times, and in general have been trying to avoid listening to her.
If the weather wasn't so nice, I'd shut my windows. But why should I?
Today's profanity lesson:
Ever notice how the Chinese subtitle for 'btch' is 三八, or 'three eight'? In Mandarin its 'san ba'. I always wondered how/why 'btch' was represented by 3-8; it didn't make any sort of sense to me at all. But more than a few people have told me its because March 8th (3/8) is International Women's Day.
That's... lovely, isn't it?
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
