On Mother's Day, I want to take a moment to publicly thank one of the most patient people I know: my mother, Joanne Tierney.
Not many people (let alone parents) would watch the original DAWN OF THE DEAD with their kids.
Or put up with the little bastard when he drags her to AMADEUS and tells her, as they're filing into the cinema, that the movie is in German, but don't worry, there are subtitles. But those are in French, which he will have to read for her and explain the plot.
Or that time we were arguing over the answering machine message and unbeknownst to both of us the (mildly profane) argument ended up AS the message.
So HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms out there, but especially mine. She'll always have a special place in my heart.
And my phone.
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
