Remembering 911

The awful memories of 911 have somewhat softened with the years, but I think the biggest aid in my own personal healing has been the knowledge that after those horrible events, Osama Bin Laden was captured just as George Bush promised to do, and the world was made a better, safer place.

Oh, wait, Bin Laden wasn't captured.

There wereno WMD in Iraq.

I admit, I used an American tragedy for my own crass purposes.

Because 8 years later, after the squandering of tens of thousands of lives in Iraq, Afghanistan, and countless other places we haven't been told of, not to mention the useless expenditure of trillions of dollars (mostly to people like the nearly-homicidal Dick (!) Cheney, all we've really gained is the inescapable certainty thatGEORGE BUSH IS AN IGNORANT, BUMBLING F@#$WAD WHO LIED, BLUNDERED, AND BLUSTERED HIS WAY INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS AS AN IRREDEEMABLE BULLY AND DULLARD AND AN EMBARRASSMENT TO ANY DECENT AMERICAN WITH MORE THAN PASSING LITERACY.Hunter S.
