In a recent entry, I promised to share with you a photo whose content, or execution, if you will, was in fact more painful than the one I shared.
To recap:
This was painful. Not that I would let it show…
My knees are, according to more than one of my orthopedists, those of a 75 year old. So doing things like this is painful. Very painful.
That same night, however, I found something even more painful.
But first, some background…
I make the V sign in photos all the time as a kind of broad p*ss-take on its ubiquity here. It strikes me as funny, especially when people do the reverse V:
It strikes me as funny especially because Hong Kong (and Malaysia) are former British colonies, and the British use the ‘reverse V’ as their version of the middle finger.
What strikes me as most funny is the number of Hong Kong women who take the English name Fanny, since ‘fanny’ is a British term roughly equivalent to ‘p*ssy.’
Maybe they all meet men named Dick and it’s no problem…
Jesus, how do I get into these filthy digressions?
During all the jocularity of the fashion show, Ben insisted on getting a photo of my new Pro Specs. Never one to miss a chance to act a fool, I decided to imitate yet another local affectation.
World’s biggest pigeon discovered in Hong Kong.
I cannot tell you just how motherf@#$ing painful it was.
So I started to exclaim, in Cantonese, just how f@#$ing painful it was.
Shandy was highly amused, and while that obviously helped, I nearly fell over by the time the photo was taken.
Steve Martin once said comedy isn’t pretty, and I’m living proof.
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
