Why is it that my personal space always looks like I've just been the target of a suicide bomber from the Salvation Army?
I guess because I'm a messy b@stard, or I have too much to do, or not enough space, or I have no one to impress by maintaining a clean work or living space. My office is currently undergoing renovations in that I am trying really hard to get all my non -work sh*t out of it. Because CUHK's colors are yellow and purple, that's why. That's Edison saying goodbye. Makes me happy to remember.
The papers on that cabinet are the ONLY work-related thing in this photo. Other than the DVDs.Aluminum treadplate, arrowheads I made, wood binding strips for guitars, an old shower curtain (don't ask), guitar templates...Wood, CDs, posters, garbage...The shelves on the left house my non-HK movies. And all my music DVDs.Kung Fu Hustle box set (unopened), air pump (pills get stuck in my throat and I have a stiff neck for 12 hours), more garbage, 2 umbrellas...You know you're a film prof when 5/6 shelves in your office house DVDs and not books. Notice the wood and steel clamps by the door. And the black spray paint and asthma inhaler and the 2-month calendar arrangement since I am such an absent minded loon that I need to see at least 4 weeks into my future...So my cure is to cart all this sh*t home... Doesn't everyone have a toolbox in their spare bedroom? And enough spare parts to open their own guitar shop? With 5 guitar bodies waiting for necks and a neck blank for a sixth body on order? And a living room already full of guitars with no room for 6 f@#$ing more of the f@#$ing things? In fairness to me, that space is a mess because I am bringing all that stuff home while trying to work on some guitars and getting buried at work and having insomnia, etc.
Oh, and because I haven't cleaned it up.The only excuse for that is that I have failed to muster the will to do so. But my asthma has been acting up again/still. With this kind of smog, why wouldn't it? "On a clear day, you can see Tai Po..."
I should start a Weezer tribute band called Wheezer. Then I can show off my newest guitar: Oooh, guitars caught in the reflection of a guitar Candy Tangerine... Mmmmmmm...
If we don't support the movies that deserve it, we get the movies that we deserve.
