School is starting next week. This semester, on top of teaching my usual Illustration Digital Painting, I’ll also be teaching 2D foundation course to first-year students at CCA. Super thankful for this opportunity to share my interdisciplinary experience with this special group on this beautiful Oakland campus. Once upon a time, this campus was the place where I began a new chapter as an art college student and it has forever transformed my life. It was the first time EVER that I didn’t feel I was weird. Actually, it’s more like I finally felt it was ok to be weird/different. Here, I learned not only how to draw, but how to think, how to process my emotions & thoughts, how to express and care, to understand who I was as an artist and human being. That was a crucial time that set the direction for me to slowly become the person I am today. And I feel so privileged to be part of this pivotal stage of someone else’s journey. . . . .
