We Have To Do Something About These Fxxked Up Tabloids!

Hello Everyone!

It has been a long time since I wrote and commented on the site. I am sorry for this, but I have been very busy planning the revamp I have been talking about for some time and also some other projects that you all will hear more about in the near future. I have been very well and will be more active talking to you guys from now on.

The last couple days have been very busy for me. We had a PAG (Performing Artists Guild) meeting last night to discuss the terrible article in a cheap H.K tabloid about Gillian Chung of Twins. Personally I cannot believe the level of bad taste this particular weekly tabloid have sunk to. To violate a young woman like that in such a public way is not only an afront to the victim but also a gross statement that shows just how degenerative and harmful some members of the entertainment press have become to the moral fiber of Hong Kong society. The PAG is planning some actions in the coming weeks to raise awareness to this issue and I will be helping out any way I can.

Today I went into TVB to take part in a televised discussion about privacy rights. I think this is a great first step to let people know how serious this issue is not only to entertainers, but also to every Hong Kong citizen. I don't think I have ever seen more artists gathered in the same room. Everybody, from Jackie Chan to Jacky Cheung and Andy Lau got together to show solidarity and many of us had a chance to share our viewpoints about privacy rights to TVB's audience. A big up to TVB for taking the initiative to organize today's gathering. The fact that the most influential media group in H.K is taking the lead to condemn the tabloid media shows just how serious this issue is. The Legislative Council will review this issue next month to see if it is necessary to pass new laws to protect privacy. I sincerely hope the government can come up with a solution that makes it a criminal offence for these tabloids to violate our privacy to obtain a story. Just THINK! Gilian's tabloid article is basically telling us that it is O.K to sneak into someone's private room and take naked photos of them. Is this the type of message that we want children to be exposed to? Though Gillian is the most recent victim of these tabloids, the adverse effects these gross articles have on the youth and on the image of Hong Kong makes every Hong Kong citizen a victim.

There are ways we can all work together to make Hong Kong's tabloid media more responsible.

WE NEED TO BOYCOTT THESE TABLOID MAGAZINES.

We have to let these tabloid publishers know we don't want their garbage. Everytime someone buys these magazines, they are telling the publisher they want to read more of this crap. This has got to stop RIGHT NOW!

ADVERTISERS: STOP BUYING ADS FROM THESE MAGAZINES.

Do you really want your products to be associated with cheap gossip and tasteless photos?

WE NEED TO SHOW THE GOVERNMENT THAT HONG KONG CITIZENS WILL NOT ALLOW THESE TABLOIDS TO CORRUPT THE VALUES OF OUR CHILDREN JUST SO THEY CAN SELL MORE MAGAZINES.

以我個人來說，這份周刋的品味低下到令人難以置信。在公眾場合如此侵犯一位年輕女士，這不只是一個受害人受侵犯的事。

這更控訴某些墮落和有害社会的娛樂媒體變成為了〝新聞道德一份子〞的見證。

演藝人協會正計劃在下幾周有一些行動，主力於提高公眾對此問題的關注。而我會在我的能力範圍內盡力幫忙。

今天我到TVB去参加一個有關私隱權討論節目，我想這是很好的第一步，讓大家知道這問題有多嚴重，這不光只限於演藝界中人，而是全香港市民的事。

我從沒有看過那麽多藝人聚在一個房間，從成龍到張學友到劉德華，都聚在一起，表現的不單止是團結，更給了我們一個表達對私隱權觀點給TVB觀眾知道的機會。

多谢TVB主動的組織這次的聚會。

事實上在香港具影響力的傳媒正帶頭讉責小報傳媒所為，可知事件之嚴重性。

立法會下個月也會檢討此事件，看看是否有需要立法通過保護私隱。

我衷心希望政府能把它列入刑事犯罪，把侵犯我們私隱的人繩之於法。

想一想！如果阿嬌被偷拍，就是告訴我們，走進人家的房間，去拍人家的裸照是「可行」的事！

這個訊息難道我們想傳遞給我們的小孩嗎﹖

不單只阿嬌是最新的受害人，這種卑下報導不僅荼毒年輕人，更令香港形象受損，令每一個香港人都成為受害者。

我們可以一同努力，繫手迫使香港八卦刋物對他們的行為負責。

我們需要聯手抵制這種無良刋物。

我們要讓小報出版商知道，我們不需要他們出版的垃圾。只要誰買了這種刋物，他就是告訴出版商，他們在想多看垃圾，這是必須立即停止的！

你們真的要你們商品的照片出現在這種低賤無聊的刋物上嗎﹖

我們要讓政府知道，香港人不想他們的孩子因出版商想刺激銷路，就被這種低賤的刋物荼毒了。
