Born in a small town in Australia, Muller wanted to experience the world and left home for Hong Kong at the age of nineteen. There, he embraced challenges working regularly for National Geographic and Discovery channel shooting feature documentaries all over Asia. After four productive years based in Hong Kong, Muller made a name for himself in the industry after winning numerous prestigious awards. Constantly craving for more adventures, the next facet dominating his career was to embark on feature length films. which led to his more recent creative collaboration with Thai director Prachya Pinkaew on the film Elephant White - Starring Djimon Hounsou and Kevin Bacon.
