The imaginative world for post rock music is endless, a single note can be crucial to the mood of the music.  Many people claim that listening to post rock music can easily create images in our mind, and some people even turn these images into paintings and stories. So it is not surprising to see many post rock bands using paintings/photos as their album theme, allowing the audience to explore their stories through them.

喜歡後搖是因為當中可想像的空間太廣闊了，一個音符、一道音牆都可以是構成氣氛的關鍵。很多人都說聽後搖的時候會很自然地將音樂在腦海中轉化成圖畫，有些 人更會把圖畫繪畫出來，甚至編成故事。所以都不難看到很多後搖樂隊的大碟封面都是以畫作或照片作為主題，讓聽音樂的人能從主題中延伸自己的故事。
