HKFBF u175cm men's physique 217 - What a tough match up! Going to rant a little in this post, as I felt it was extremely unfair, feel free to read if you're interested about my experience this comp! For those who don't know, (skip this part if you do) there are 2 shows on show day, one internal pre-judging and one external; night show shown to the public. Given that there were 12 people in my comp, they had to short list 10 people to go on stage to compete at night. ▪️Did the pre-judging > fast forward to 1 hr before night show, I was told that another competitor and I didn't make top 10 competitors, I couldn't believe it; I asked them to triple check and that lady said your number is not on the short list, you can pack your bags and go; which is what I did. I went to change and joined my friends and family in the audience for what felt like 20'minutes. In those 20 minutes of sitting they decided that everyone should go back onstage in the night show, luckily my friend Benny sent me a text to inform me, or else I wouldn't even know so I ran back to back stage got changed into my competition trunks.... by that time it was stage time. There was no pumping up, no oil-ing whatsoever in the past 20 minutes leading up to the show, men's physique is all about total package and I was lacking these 2 important factors. The other competitor that was told to leave I never saw again; He didn't even get a chance to show his family and friends that came his physique and hard work...... I placed 6th despite being told I didn't make top 10 in pre-judging. Wth? Lessons 1️⃣ People make mistakes, and it can cost you. You would've thought such a big federation got their shit together after so many shows, they don't. It gets messy. 2️⃣ Don't take anything for an answer until it's show time 3️⃣ Despite missing those two important factors I still managed to place top 6. 4️⃣ Ranking is not decided at pre-judging but the night show is also as important! 5️⃣ Having said this though it was a very tough match up! Looking forward to Macau in Aug and HK in oct! Rant out ? thanks to those that told me I'm still a champ to them, means a lot! Extremely touched
