Singaporean driver, Yuey Tan endured a less than adequate race weekend at the Mallala GP over the weekend.“The race weekend was a nightmare for me. We were always in a string of traffic during the qualifying sessions, and on two occasions, I backed off to create space. This worked against me both times, as red flags came out during my flying laps. This, coupled with the rain in the last five minutes of the session was the end of a disastrous qualifying session.”Wimobilize driver Tan went on into the three races over the weekend with mixed results. While Tan speared into Rankin on turn 1 of race 1, this disallowed from Tan to continue, and effectively ending the race. Race 2 saw a spirited affair though race 3 did not work out well for the Singaporean.“Rankin was unfortunate. He spun out in front of me and the only place I was going, was into the side of his door. There was nothing we could do. Race 2 saw us jump from 19th to 9th during the race though the final race was unfortunate. Like Marchy in Shanghai this year, I locked up massively coming into a right hand corner, crippling the car for the remainder of the race. We just worked hard to look after the tyres and bring the car home. It was very frustrating to drive so slowly, but points are points and we had to make the best of it,” Tan commented. “We are just looking to the next race as the Mallala weekend is definitely a weekend that I’d rather forget.”The McElrea Racing team will be headed their next round in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asian series, taking place in Zhuhai on the 18-20 June weekend.
