In only his second season in Porsche Carrera Cup, and in motorsport, Yuey Tan currently leads lead Singaporean driver, Ringo Chong in the series. Tan sits on 26 points, with Chong on 24.“It is fantastic for us that we are keeping some decent pace with Ringo after 4 of the 11 rounds have passed. The season has a long way to go, but finishing consistently in the top 10 is a major milestone for us this year. I am under no illusions about where my goals and targets are. Ringo Chong is still the man to beat in Singapore as a race driver. It is almost so much more than a qualifying lap.”It is a known quantity that experience and mental psychology counts for a vast majority of the motorsport arena.“Ringo is the most experienced in Singapore and it shows. Although we are encouraged that our qualifying pace is close to his, the guy can drive a great race almost everytime! This is consistency, and something that takes time to learn,” said Tan.Singaporean driver, Yuey Tan, also continued by commenting on race psychology and how he overtook Merlin and Choi at the Shanghai GP.“It was a very interesting weekend in Shanghai. Just before the race, Ringo came up to me and told me that if I can’t get pass them, hassle them and they will make mistakes. This is exactly what happened, and I got my first top 10 result overall for the season. Only experience would teach you this!”Follow the rest of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season at www.yueytan.com.sg
