i was talking to a friend who asked if i was interested in creating graphics for posters
he said he wanted work to have an airbush look, not painterly, he said i could give him a sample of what i would create- a few days later i ran into a friend who models and dances, and it so happened she showed me a photo of herself - i said i would love to use it as reference for a painting. a week and a half later i came up with a finished product -
oh man, last nights artwalk was INTENSE! i had models kira kaye (import diva, model, and dancer) and mamacita, eunice oh, model me for syrup desserts body painting. they were great models, even if they did eat, talk, play with their phones, or move around making it impossible to paint them, haha. i had euince sitting on a chair and kira sitting on a table and did a wrap-around painting starting from eunice’s back to kira’s arm. it looked awesome!! i can’t wait to post the pictures! and there were TONS of photogr...Read more

today is kira kay’s bday (yay!). for those of you who dont know, kira = model, dancer, and homeslice
her boyfriend, noah, (also a homie of mine) wanted to do something thoughtful and commissioned me to help with a tshirt design as kira’s present. the first drawing below is noah’s, he asked me to clean it up and color it… i told him i would draw it out in illustrator and then add the color.

im not sure how i did it, but i completed a commission for a painting this past weekend.
i received an email around wednesday/thursday to have a painting ($100) done by sunday. the present was for their cousin (male) who loves cigars, hot women, and was a fan of noah’s fine art (www.noahfineart.com). i figured if i could combine the feel of noah’s art with the cigar-box feel, i could turn something out to the client’s liking.

artwalk was fairly successful - did some live body paintings on erica eng and ’slick’ from America’s Best Dance Crew’s ‘Ringmasters’ … definite good time! photography provided by Rodo (will post them later) thank you for all who stopped by! it was a pleasure to meet new people and to cross paths again with old friends.

i went to dinner with a guy about a week ago to a very nice french restaurant - i can’t remember the name of it, but it was formerly justin timberlake’s spot, “chi”. between the authentic french stew, succulent beef cheek, and baba jar, a question was asked, ‘what do you think the meaning of life is?’
“i’ve been philisophical lately,” my friend explained.
I paused. “honestly… i don’t really care,” i laughed.

i was invited to be the motivational guest speaker for the first grade class at couer d’alene elementary this afternoon. the current class theme is to ‘keep trying,’ that no matter how hard something may seem, people should never give up. i shared my story of being diagnosed with communication disabilities at the age of five. i had a hearing impairment and speech impediment. this forced me to repeat kindergarten and go under special tutoring until the fifth grade. my disabilities may have forced me to work harder, but i learned to channel my s...Read more
