A dear friend of mine thinks my blogs about HK trams are uninteresting and worthy of scorn. Of course I disagree and I know some of you out there share my view! (the silent majority of tram appreciators!)Last week as she and I were walking down King's Road in North Point, we spotted a unique creature I blogged about just 1 month ago. - its the green #200 tram! Up to that point I had never seen this particular one-of-a-kind maintance tram before, but since first spotting it, I have seen it THREE times. I guess I'm hanging around the tram tracks more after midnight these days. :-Pthe 2nd time I saw it was moving so I couldn't get a clear picture, this time it was stopped so I was able to get some much better pics:the guys behind it were cleaning the tracks with a high powered sprayer (based on the tram) and some brooms.
Here you can see that unlike the ' private hire trams' which also have an open top on upper deck, this one's body is not as customized and ornamented. It actually looks a lot more like a regular double decker tram that they cut part of the roof off of.you can also check out the interesting maintance icons they've got painted on the side.I think this thing should be called Doctor Green! (after Doctor Yellow).tags: hong kong tram, permanent way maintance, tram #200, double decker tram, 電車
