A Little Piece of Me

There's nothing like sifting through old stuff like my old Samsung mobile phone and discovering some "revealing" shots inside.  With all the hoopla about Edison Chen's "stash of brash trash," we've all been reminded that you can never be too safe...or too dumb at the time.   Therefore, I took the time to see what was still stored inside my phone cuz there's almost always bound to be a "little treasure."  Normally, I don't like to post up pictures of the little people around me, but I absolutely love this picture above when this "little piece of me" ventured to the East Coast shores of Singapore for the very first time.  I had such a great time watching him with his big cranium and little stocky frame patiently weighing the "pros" and "cons" of taking a step further to meet the waves rolling ashore.  Gosh...I sound like I'm explaining aDetourwith the pros and cons. Of course, he did proceed forward in meeting the vast ocean (and all this crazy world will have to offer )in the end...with Daddy-in-tow, of course!

This past week was pretty busy for me with all the filming at Mediacorp to completeRipley's Believe It or Not.  I had to churn out almost thirty episodes in four days so it was really hectic too.  Fortunately, I had the opportunity to use an Autocue (aka-Teleprompter) for the very first time in my career, and I must admit that it makes hosting (and newscasting) a whole lot easier.  The key to being good at Autocue is to sound like you are NOT reading when you are delivering your lines plus NOT looking like you've got the words on your camera screen with your eyes scrolling from left to right (or right to left from the viewer's perspective).  I thought it'd take longer to pick up and perfect, but I think I passed my own "Pepsi Challenge" with the general audience not knowing "I'm doing da Ripley's do with an Autocue."  So if you happen to see me on the show, let me know if you can tell I'm using an Autocue.  Honestly, I've always preferred the old-fashioned way of memorizing all my lines for various gigs, but I think being older has allowed me to be more open to the conveniences that technological advances have to offer...or maybe I just can't memorize my lines as well anymore!

With this new Autocue "toy" to tinker with, maybe I'll request a portable unit for Season Three of The Amazing Race Asia?! Yeah...right.  Most of what goes down during the race is so unpredictable and last-minute that there's essentially no scrīpt at all, and this Autocue muse would seriously be just dead weight from country to country.

Speaking of The Amazing Race Asia, I hear production is deep in the process of reviewing all potential teams for this upcoming season so expect a call soon if you and your partner are one of the chosen few!

Good luck and catch ya later!
