First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for all their birthday wishes! I've always thought that birthdays are really never the same after you've hit 21 or so, but it's always nice to receive well wishes and to have people remember
For the second consecutive year, I had the opportunity of spending this same time of the year back in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to do a TV commercial shoot for the Malaysia Mega-Sale with Irene Ang.
Most of you would know Irene Ang as Rosie Phua from the hit local Singapore sitcom "PCK Phua Chu Kang," but she's also the founder and owner of the biggest talent management company in Singapore called Fly Entertainment, which manages other actors including Jimmy T, Nadya Hutagalung, Rebecca Tan, and Wong Li Lin. If you're curious, you can check out the website at: http://www.fly.com.sg/
For this job, we get to spend several days at the various mega malls in KL including The Pavilion and Mid Valley Mall, and then we showcase all the shopping that's available to all those who dare to venture in. While some gigs usually can be far from fun and entertaining, we make sure we all have a great time during our time here. I think Irene's always fancied herself to be a mannequin so here she is "living the dream" and posing next to a "real, live" mannequin during the shoot...
During the course of the shoot, we just visit various shops and boutiques that are exclusive to Malaysia and just "shop away"...
...In addition to all the shopping, we also had the added bonus of featuring the various local delicacies at the various malls so you know I was all over that! The food started coming...
...and coming...
...and still coming...
...and just when we thought it was over, we we presented with an entire table of delicious cuisine from Penang, Malaysia, to partake in...
In fact, Rebecca Tan heard we had such a good time last year that she wanted to be a part of the fun herself.
Along the way, she taught me a new way to eat your McDonald's Big Mac. First you take out one of the all "beef" patties and lay down all your french fries from your Happy Meal...
Next, you scoop out all the Sweet N Sour sauce used for Chicken McNuggets and pour it over the french fries...
Finally, you put the bun back on top and your "Sweet N Sour French Fried Big Mac" is ready to be served...
Honestly, I wasn't sure how it would it taste, but it wasn't bad. Let me know what you think if you happen to be extra curious one day and wanna try it out!
Well, that's how I spent my birthday for the second year-in-a-row. Hope you enjoyed that and catch up with all again soon!
