Another bloody typhoon coming up this weekend. Here's a shot from the studio terrace a few days ago. The sky was awesome enough to inspire me to a write a new club track. One of the DJs will hopefully give it a test drive tonight at Yumla.

Been test driving my new DJ set-up at the studio this week ... ditched the ridiculous vinyl control hardware and turntables completely ... the more I got into Traktor the less I needed the Technics. Unless you are a scratch DJ, the vinyl control is utterly redundant.

Continuing my miserable rant about the end of recorded music a few months back, I recently stumbled across this in the press:
Cultural manipulator / spearhead / interpreter Bill Drummond [wiki link] is behind The 17 ... I could splurt out a few words here on the project but really, it's all laid out very clearly on the site.
The balcony got wrecked during the last few typhoons. The terracotta planters we had suffered the most ... 2" thick and completely split by wind knocking the trees around.
Weather has been semi-stable so decided to bring the gardeners over and swap out the damaged pots, repair a few of the more sorry looking palm trees and chuck some flowers into the bigger pots to try and help retain water (the sun is drying out the soil really quickly).
Work in progress:
Been taking these shots for over a year now ... burned out black & white portrait-scape taken (mostly) at the bar. Have about 350 up on Flickr now ... quite like the way they look en masse and I really like catching people's expressions when they are not aware of the camera. People always look more interesting when they are being themselves.
Major downside to all this ... trying to get high contrast photos in low light always requires a flash ... and having a blinding white strobe go in your face at 3AM (especially when ... uh .....Read more
