Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8zC4O4ae5UIt's been a rough week for me. But, hey life goes on. I've mentioned in previous blogs that I started to take skydiving lessons. I'm still new to skydiving, but I can say that it's a bit more technical then people make it out to be. If you want to learn how to do tricks you really have to know your body. Skydiving really is a sport. Golf or baseball can be a sport, trust me skydiving is a sport. An extreme one at that.Up above is my first hybrid. A hybrid is when you combine belly flyers (people that fly on their bellies) with free flyers (people that can fly any direction). Normally when you skydive you fall right around terminal velocity 120mph. When you fly in a group you slow down because you have more volume to slow air flow. With the four of us in the circle formation we're going maybe 100mph. After the other two latch on and pull us down vertical we increase past terminal to 140+ mph. It's really quite scientific. If physics was explained in skydiving terms i'm sure people would find it more exciting. In this 60 sec free fall quite a bit can go wrong. I was the rookie in the formation, but everything went pretty well. Enjoy the video and a little audioslave. I let the sound of an open parachute end the segment because I think everyone should know the sound of cheating death.HP.S. I'm the one in read screaming "wooooooooooooooooooooooo" and I don't mean my chinese neighbor.
