The Heterosexual Life Partner

We call them BFF's or as my sister Jennifer calls them Gay Lovers.  This would be a person's best friend of the same sex.  Hence why it is called heterosexual life partner not homosexual life partner.  You may laugh at any time.

I was revealed some very life changing news yesterday.  My roommate Rian http://www.alivenotdead.com/?stansel told me that he will sometime in the near future most likely have to return to Maine.  Rian is business parter in I Heart Organic, my roommate, but most importantly my current heterosexual life partner.  He is my wingman (I'm maverick).  A brother from another mother if you will.  It saddened me to hear that he would have to leave (which isn't final, but may very well happen).  As I reflected upon all that I have accomplished in the last year, I realize that none of it could have been done without him.  And I'm sure the same thing goes with him.  People operate as a team, to do something productive or unproductive, but either way they are striving towards happiness.

Often times we have to move away from someone, or we have to leave someone, and this is just the journey of life.  My journey has lead me to meet some amazing people.  Even those that I consider to be bad or negative in my life, have had some sort of positive outlook.  Rian has had a very positive outlook on my life, and really the only thing I ever have to complain about is that he needs to do the damn dishes and clean up after himself.  Living with someone is hard, and everyone wants to respect one another's space.  What can you do but compromise?  If Rian and my roommate journey ends this year, it was meant to end this year.  All I know is that I am grateful to have him as a business partner, roommate, and friend.  It seems like life always takes unexpected turns.  One can mope and complain about it, or one can welcome the change, and live life more happily.

It is always sad to see a good friend leave, esp when you spend 50% or more of your time with them, but like everything in life you always have to let go.  As cheesy and sappy as it may be, I will miss my heterosexual life partner.  He is the best wingman I have ever had.  Never in my life have I met as many girls as I have in this last year.  But it wasn't just the quantity, but the quality.  Never in my life have I achieved and accomplished so much in my life as well.  For this I thank Rian, and I wish him well, on his journey.  Often people do not treasure someone else's company until that company is gone.  Lets all seriously look at our friends, family, and random acquaintance and enjoy their presence.  In the mean time enjoy Flight of the Conchords.H
