Respect = Paul Newman
After hearing the news about Paul Newman's death this morning on NPR, my heart was saddened. I was trying to put into words what his work and life meant to me. I found Dax and Jason's words touching and comforting to me. They both honored him beautifully. I just want to add a couple of thoughts.
I have seen so many movies in my life. Sometimes they fade but I still remember the first time I saw Paul Newman in Read more

Saw Ping Pong Playa!
I finally had a open night last night and
went over to Glendale to see Ping Pong Playa. I’m glad I did. A universal family story that everyone can relate to— Some wonderful performances. Elizabeth Sung was especially wonderful as the mother. She combined the believability of the mother with humor --- charmed me all the way! All the actors created a touching believable story. I am so glad I saw it.
I remembered when my older brother beat me at ping pong d...Read more

I saw "The Girl Who Would Be King." It was a staged reading done by some wonderful actors. The piece certainly has potential for regional theaters. I especially like Ann Ryerson as the storyteller, Barry Saltzman as the hard of hearing servant (hilarious), and Tara Samuel in the lead...Read more

It's been too long since I have blogged with you all. The last few months have raced by. July was a teaching gig that zoomed by. All consuming. I just got back from a family event in PEORIA.
I used to hear the phrase Will it play in Peoria? In theater and performing conversations that phrase meant will the show, scene, segment be something that the people outside the biggest cities and the performing community like the piece? Will they watch will it be successful outside of New York and LA?
I had never be...Read more
