Found myself wandering around Manhattan and ended up at some antique stores, where I snatched up these uber-old books by two women writers, one of who was an abolitionist. These were printed in 1860 and 1887, and are now the oldest "things" I have ever owned. Stephen King once said that writing and reading is like telepathy, and I have really come to feel that sentiment. I can't wait to catch a glimpse of these two women's minds now, who lived in such a different time and culture. They never in a million years thought some Vietnamese American German girl would pick up a print of their books in 2015. And who has read these copies before me? Oh no, I'm getting dreamy... Also, I randomly stumbled into a store selling bookmarks from Vietnam. I rarely see bookmarks around these days! Had to get it.
