Michael Wong and his Big Band played at JJ's (Grand Hyatt) last evening to a packed Friday night crowd in support of UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency) - a charity that Michael is passionately helping to increase its awareness in Hong Kong.
Was a great show for which Michael invited a few guest performers to keep him company on stage - Ankie Bielke, acapela group Metro, Ginger Kwan and Kris.
Metro crossovered delightfully with Michael to sing a really nice version of Billy Joel's The Longest Time ... sorta got the impression it wasn't rehearsed much, as one of the performers was holding the lyrics in his hand ... it was pretty cute ;oP
Scottie and myself were there to soak up the Big Band atmosphere and to film The Wongster doing his stuff.
Was fantastic to see the AnD support there in the crowd ...
My two fav pics of the nite below ... Patrick, ur AWESOME regardless dork or no dork!
Gracie, what can i say ... cuteness defined!
Michael and Metro joined us for some cordial snapping after the show ... fun fun Friday nite!
Now that more important event of the evening is documented above ..... below is the evening's pre-quel capers of Scottie and Pat, which started with dinner at California Pizza Kitchen in Mongkok, along with fiance extraordinaire Miss Ida ...
Yesterday, the weather was so sticky, hot and humid, so by dinner time these fatboys had sweated plenty and were pretty dehydrated .... thus, CPK was strategically chosen for its unlimited refills of Iced Tea and Soft Drinks for $28 (pretty good, right?) ... we both downed like five or six glasses each of Iced Tea and Coke Light before we eventually ordered .... we had a good time bickering, name-calling and bitching about which salad to order ... I wanted Waldorf and Scottie adamant he "needed" the Miso Shrimp salad ....
Luckily, Ida was on hand to stop things from getting outta hand, suggesting that we could order a half portion of each, which we duely did -- haha ... BUT, just for the record Bitch, Ida preferred my Waldorf!
Afterwards, Scottie fancied a touch of Martha Stewart-esque shopping for his home ... the soon to be "Land of Ida" -- hehe ...
Being the super-efficient dudes we are .... we actually got to the Grand Hyatt little early and decided to "chill-out " in the car a bit and share ideas for my summer make-over project .... last week, i was working on headwear, this week i have progressed to hair ....
WARNING: the following pics are rather disturbing ... not for the faint-hearted ...
Enjoy a Nice Weekend Everyone!
