Thanks for staying tune...where was I..? Oh yes.
I WAS LOST !!!
I came to a crossroad. Left or Right?? I'm left handed. However, most people are right handed. I should turn right. So...I turned right ! Drove for a while and I saw a TRAIN in the distance. Hell ! I'm in the wrong direction. They can't be traveling on the railway track!
"U-TURN!!!!"
The road is narrow, with trees on both sides. I used mY entire body weight and did a super U-TURN which obviously FAILED. What couId be worse? I drove into a pile of snow! I tried to accelerate... boom boom boom.. Oh no..nothing happened. Where's the reverse button??? They didn't give any instructions!!! They didn't tell us where the reverse button is! Where's the car horn? I need to alert someone! I need help!! No car horn???It's not a car, so no car horn? Where's the snowmobile horn then??? Nope! Nothing! PLUS...it's pitch black. My headlights are stuck in the snow. It's total darkness!!! My instinct told me I have to act asap. I abandoned my snowmobile and ran towards the direction i came from. I hear my own breathing...no other sound, just my breathing.. My legs are hard and heavy, I ran and ran and ran... HURRH!!! A BEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help!!!!!!!!!
wait wait... oh oh oh .... it's not a bear ! it's a tree covered with snow.. it does look like a bear though. I continued running until I came back to the crossroad. I believe someone will come back for me.....I"m not gonna be lost in the forest. I"m not going to turn into a snowman.... This is not a movie man....how could this happen to me??? Just as I was praying with my eyes wide open, I saw a light....HAHAHAHA...it's lights from a snowmobile!
Oh it's the 'SCENIC" group approaching me. I waved my hands up and high just in case they make a turn before seeing me, then i'll really be doomed. Instinctively, I felt like Tom Hanks in 'Cast Away'....so desperate..........!!!!!!!!!!
They came to a stop in front of me. The tour leader of the SCENIC group asked me where my snowmobile is. I pointed.
He said ," ok, please drive over and join us."
''errr.....it's stuck in the snow.."
While he and I went over to retrieve my snowmobile, 15 other drivers waited. Oh man.....
Anyways....I was saved. I finally arrived at the restaurant. Kind souls came over and asked
"Hi are you ok? You're not hurt from the fall are you?"
I replied " no i'm fine. thank you."
"and i heard you were lost too..."
"err......ya........hahaha" i wish i could just disappear into the bowl of soup in front of me.
I had no appetite.
I thought to myself "Thank God my two and a half hours of snowmobile ordeal is finally...."
"Excuse me Madam. This is the form, you have to sign it. What time can you go and pay for the damages tomorrow?"
yup yup yup! 180 euro for the windscreen. After breaking the windscreen an hour into driving, I drove for 1.5 hr without the windscreen. Can you imagine how cold i was???
People who wonder why nobody realised I was missing was because we were driving in a single file and i guess everybody's totally focused on what's in front and assumed whoever's behind is able to catch up like everyone else.....booo...
What's over is over. After paying for the windscreen I joined the next day tour. Easy tour, of course. Trip to Santa Claus Village..hee...hee SANTA CLAUS' MAIN POST OFFICE !!! I sent some postcards home. You actually get to choose to send normal post or post for the next Christmas. Pretty cool huh?
ICE BAR Did you realise my pics are all from daylight till nightfall? As I've previously mentioned, daylight is really short. It's only 3pm and it's dark !!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!! HUH Christmas again??? Wow time really flies... i'm getting old!
