At 3pm on Saturday, decades of growth was shaved from my head in support of childhood cancer research. Thanks to everyone who supported the cause and helped me to raise well over my target of US$3,000... The total raised this year through events like this all over the world has already reached an impressive 19.3 million.

Following the unlikely success of growing a Mo for Movember last year, I've now decided to shave my head bald in solidarity and support for children who have cancer. I recently read an account of one child's battle, and as a new father it made the earth turn backwards.

Fifty years ago there were an estimated 4,000 Chinese Tigers ( Panthera tigris amoyensis) in the wild but today it is the most endangered of the five remaining tiger species – with perhaps less than one hundred left in existence.
At the same time, the entire global wild tiger population is now estimated to be as low as 3,200 – almost half what it was in the last Year of the Tiger.
